Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and statements in compliance with accounting standards
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including reconciliations
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Monitor cash flow and ensure financial stability of the business
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST returns, and other statutory obligations
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decision-making
- Ensure compliance with taxation laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions
- Maintain accurate documentation and accounting systems
- Identify process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and reporting
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience as an Accountant
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- CPA/CA qualification (or working towards) will be highly regarded
