Your new company
This is a temporary opportunity with a large NSW Government emergency services organisation that plays a critical role in supporting regional communities across the state. The organisation operates within a volunteer-based, community-focused environment and is responsible for supporting emergency response, preparedness, and recovery activities across rural and regional NSW.
The role is based in the Upper Hunter region (near Singleton) within a busy district office.

Your new role
As a Temporary District Administration Officer, youll provide a broad range of administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the district office. Youll liaise with staff at all levels as well as volunteer members, supporting the delivery of services in a professional, timely, and reliable manner.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing general administrative support such as filing, records management, mail handling, photocopying, and report preparation
  • Responding to incoming phone and face-to-face enquiries, providing information and referring matters as appropriate
  • Drafting routine correspondence and providing word processing support
  • Coordinating meetings, including preparing agendas, organising venues and distributing minutes
  • Maintaining computerised records management systems, ensuring accurate storage, retrieval, and archiving of information
  • Supporting office systems and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance
  • Assisting and mentoring other staff when required

During periods of high operational activity, you may be asked to provide additional administrative support consistent with your skills and experience.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Certificate II in Administration or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Previous experience in an administrative or office support role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
  • An understanding of, or genuine appreciation for, volunteer-based community service
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel if required
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to policies, procedures, and legislation
