Automotive Electrician

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
2. Repair and replace faulty wiring, circuits, and electrical components
3. Install and maintain vehicle electrical systems including lighting, alternators, starters, and batteries
4. Conduct testing and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and manufacturer standards
5. Install accessories such as GPS systems, radios, cameras, and auxiliary lighting
6. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems
7. Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
8. Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements

Skills and Experience:

1. Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and components
2. Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams and schematics
3. Experience using diagnostic tools and scan tools
4. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Good communication and time management skills

Qualifications:

1. Relevant trade qualification as an Automotive Electrician
