Carpenter

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Carpenter to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, renovating and repairing structures and fixtures made of timber, plywood, wallboard and other materials. The role will involve reading plans and specifications, preparing materials, assembling structures and ensuring all carpentry work is completed safely and to a high professional standard.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Studying drawings, plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
2. Ordering, selecting and preparing timber, plywood, wallboard and other construction materials
3. Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials to form structures and fittings
4. Erecting frameworks, supports, partitions, flooring, wall structures and other carpentry components
5. Installing, repairing and maintaining timber structures, fixtures, fittings and related building components
6. Using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment safely and effectively
7. Checking the accuracy, alignment and trueness of structures and completed works
8. Reading and interpreting work instructions, plans and specifications
9. Carrying out repairs, renovations and maintenance works as required
10. Ensuring all work is completed neatly, efficiently and to a high professional standard
11. Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
12. Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Previous experience as a carpenter or in a similar role is required

We are not looking to train someone for this position, so the successful applicant must have demonstrated experience in a similar role. You must be professional, reliable, physically fit and able to complete carpentry works to a high standard.

We are offering a competitive salary of $77,000 - $85,000 per annum for the right candidate.
