With an experience of over 25 years in the food service industry, the product director and the team are not only equipped with rich experience in the production of Cantonese cuisine but also advance management skills.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Chef to join our team: Phoenix Kitchen, Clayton. The work environment is friendly and respectful. The successful candidate will plan and organize the preparation and cooking of food in a dining or catering establishment and need to take the duties to manage the Kitchen Team.

Mainly tasks:

Prepare and cook foods.

Explain and enforce hygiene regulations.

Select and train staffs.

Freeze and preserve foods.

Check the freshness of food and ingredients.

Supervise and coordinate activities of Cooks and other food preparation staffs.

Develop recipes and determine how to present the foods.

Plan menus and ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals.

Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.

Order and maintain inventory of food supplies.

Monitor sanitation practices

Qualification required:

An ideal candidate will at least have a AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

Essential Skills:

Prefer at least 3 years’ chef or cook experience.

Broad knowledge of food safety procedures and workplace hygiene procedures.

Strong communication and problem solving skills.

A keen eye for detail and ability to follow processes.

Ability of working in a cross-cultural environment.

Highest standard of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism

Ability to work to deadlines with good leadership and time management skills.
