We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to our growing reputation for quality Italian cuisine.

Role Overview:

As a Chef at Basilico Prospect, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality Italian dishes in line with established recipes and standards. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service, consistent quality, and efficient kitchen operations during busy periods. This role suits a chef who is passionate about Italian cuisine, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and cook authentic Italian dishes including pizzas, pastas, and mains to a consistently high standard

· Assist with menu execution, daily specials, and seasonal updates

· Ensure portion control, presentation, and quality consistency across all dishes

· Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards

· Assist with preparing ingredients, setting up the kitchen, and keeping everything organized and ready for service.

· Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery

· Support senior chefs and contribute to a positive, professional kitchen culture

· Participate in service preparation for busy dining periods and functions when required

Qualifications & Experience:

· Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

· Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment

· Experience with Italian or Mediterranean cuisine is highly desirable

· Strong understanding of cooking techniques, flavor balance, and menu execution

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards

· Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
