Moon and Back Cafe is currently seeking a qualified Full Time Chef to join our friendly team.

We are looking for experienced and dedicated Chef who is committed to exceeding our customers' expectations whilst leading a professional and hardworking team.

  1. Prepare and cook high quality dishes according to standards and recipes.
  2. Designing and updating menu and prices as per the needs of the business.
  3. Consistently ensuring all dishes are prepared to our high standard.
  4. Controlling and directing food preparation process and any other kitchen related duties.
  5. Monitor and record of inventory and if necessary, order supplies.
  6. Ensure OH&S and food hygiene requirements are met.
  7. Work unsupervised and in a team while maintaining a secure and friendly working environment.
  8. Assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ordering and stock control.
  9. Ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations.
  10. Participating in staff meetings to discuss operational improvements and team performance.

Train and mentor junior kitchen staff

To be considered for this role you will need to possess the following:

  1. Advanced understanding and appreciation of all aspects of food and its service
  2. 2 + years of proven kitchen experience in a busy environment
  3. Qualifications in commercial cookery- Cert IV or higher
  4. Flexible availability
  5. Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  6. Effective communication skills.
  7. Overall knowledge of operations, ordering, stock control and working to budgets

Salary: $76515 plus super or higher depending on experience.
