About the Role

The Chef position is responsible for cooking menu items and supporting day-to-day kitchen operations within a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment. The role supports food service delivery by ensuring dishes are cooked consistently, efficiently, and in line with established recipes, presentation standards, and kitchen procedures.

Salary: $76,000 to $78,000 + Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cook menu items in line with established recipes and presentation standards
  2. Plan menus and monitor cooking processes to maintain food quality, consistency, and timely service
  3. Operate across different kitchen sections during busy service periods as required
  4. Ensure dishes are presented according to business standards before service
  5. Assist with daily kitchen coordination and workflow during service operations
  6. Monitor stock usage and assist with stock rotation and ingredient storage procedures
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas
  8. Assist with monitoring portion consistency and kitchen service standards
  9. Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  10. Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to support smooth kitchen operations

Skills & Experience

  1. Relevant qualification such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  2. Minimum 1–2 years of full-time relevant work experience in a similar role
  3. Experience working within a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment
  4. Strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen workflow, and service operations
  5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  6. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  7. Strong teamwork and communication skills
