Our client, Seatours Pty Ltd a Trustee for Johnson Family Trust trading as Pizza Bella Roma, is a well-established Italian restaurant located in Fremantle, WA. Operating since 1972, Pizza Bella Roma is renowned for its authentic Italian cuisine, generous portions, famous chilli mussels and pizzas, and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has built a strong reputation as a favourite dining destination for both locals and visitors.

Due to business growth, our client is seeking a full-time Chef to join their dynamic kitchen team.

The successful candidate will bring a genuine passion for Italian cuisine, with the ability to prepare traditional dishes while contributing to modern menu development. You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring consistency in food quality, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Qualifications and experience

•be qualified in hospitality with AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) with at least one year full-time experience as a Chef

•Strong knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles.

•Proven experience in kitchen management, menu planning, and food costing.

•Sound understanding of WHS, Food Safety, and HACCP requirements.

•Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.

In this role your main responsibilities include:

Manage Kitchen Production: Oversee overall kitchen operations to ensure consistency and efficiency.

Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes (pizza, pasta, risotto, etc.) following our recipes and quality standards.

Menu Development: Develop and refine menu items using seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.

Team Supervision: Lead and train kitchen staff, maintaining a positive, high-performing team environment.

Safety & Hygiene: Ensure strict compliance with food safety (HACCP) and WHS requirements at all times.

Inventory Management: Order supplies, manage stock levels, and control food and labour costs.

Quality Control: Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation; ensure meals are produced on time and plated attractively.

Maintenance: Maintain cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.

Industry Awareness: Keep up-to-date with local competition and industry trends to help keep our offerings fresh and competitive.
