About the role
Mainline Services Group is seeking experienced Chefs to support breakfast and dinner meal service in a remote mining village. This is a hands-on site-based role delivering quality meals, assisting with menu implementation, supervising kitchen operations during service periods, and maintaining strong food safety, hygiene and operational standards in a high-volume catering environment.
Key responsibilities
·Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals for personnel working at a remote mining village.
·Plan and coordinate meal preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner service in a high-volume catering environment.
·Monitor food preparation processes to maintain consistency, quality, portion control and presentation standards.
·Assist in menu planning and preparation of meals to accommodate dietary, allergy and cultural requirements.
·Supervise kitchen operations and support kitchen staff during meal service periods.
·Monitor food storage, stock rotation, temperature control and kitchen inventory procedures.
·Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and workplace health and safety procedures.
·Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitation and operational efficiency in accordance with company standards.
·Assist with ordering supplies, stock management and minimising food wastage.
·Work collaboratively with site management and catering teams to ensure efficient meal service operations.
Requirements
·Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, or relevant commercial cooking experience preferred
·At least one-year relevant work experience
·Experience in bulk catering, camp catering, hospitality or commercial kitchens preferred
·Sound understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
·Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
·Reliable, organised and team focused
·Food safety knowledge and experience
·Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing and site induction requirements
