Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (minimum requirement)
- At least 3 years of proven experience as a Chef
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- In-depth understanding of food preparation, produce, and quality standards
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality
- Cook meals to order with accurate timing to maintain freshness and optimal serving temperature
- Uphold high standards of flavour, texture, and visual presentation
- Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients while maintaining authenticity
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Manage kitchen inventory, maintaining optimal stock levels and minimising waste
- Lead, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
- Keep accurate records of stock levels, equipment maintenance, and kitchen operations
- Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement of kitchen processes, systems, and service standards
