The Treendale Farm Hotel is looking for Chefs to work with our kitchen team who will report to the Head Chef & Venue Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Demonstrate understanding of food preparation and production in the kitchen department, whilst taking direction from the Head Chef to ensure smooth operation of all kitchen duties.

Food Operations

  1. Ensures the consistency of all menu items regardless of time of day or period of service
  2. Day to day effective involvement in food operations
  3. Liaising with Chefs and kitchen team to ensure smooth delivery of food to guests
  4. Operation of kitchen equipment to achieve required results for ala carte and function service
  5. Work with the Head Chef to advance and improve current food operations
  6. Has understanding of stock control and works together with the kitchen team to minimize wastage

Venue Security & Compliance

  1. Understanding of venue access and security of food stock
  2. Maintenance of alarm codes, venue keys and other access requests

Safety

  1. Compliance and understanding of food safety policy and procedures (HACCP)
  2. Responsible for regular safety meetings with heads of departments present providing a forum for risks and hazards to be addressed and documented
  3. Follows kitchen systems, policies, and procedures on shift

Staff Management

  1. Understanding of kitchen labour control taking lead from the Head Chef
  2. Monitors and enforces kitchen service standards as provided by the Head Chef
  3. Follows kitchen systems, policies, and procedures on shift

Personal Presentation

  1. Presenting oneself in accordance with the venue’s dress standards
  2. Responding to the requests to perform other tasks from time to time which contribute to the overall success of the venue’s operations
  3. Maintaining service standards particularly during peak periods
  4. Maintain a ‘Can-do’ attitude in the face of adversity

Performance Review

  1. Performance reviews with be part of your commitment to the position, regular scheduled and unscheduled check-ins

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. All applicants must have at least 2 years of experience
  2. Additional experience is required where the applicant does not have enough or a relevant formal qualification
  3. All relevant experience will be considered
  4. A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude
  5. The ability to excel under pressure in a high-volume environment with excellent problem-solving skills
  6. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship skills
  7. Attention to detail with a focus consistency
  8. We ask that you are open and honest in all dealings to the advantage of both you and the business

Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 annually
