CHEFS
Gladstone Fuels Pty Ltd (Beachcomber) is looking for Full-time Chefs (a few positions)
Location: Coffin Bay, South Australia
Report to: Manager
Position Overview:
As a Chef, you will be responsible for kitchen operations, ensuring the
delivery of exceptional food and service. This includes menu development, managing
kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of food safety, and controlling costs. The chef
is also expected to introduce innovative dishes that reflect the best of local produce
while maintaining the restaurant’s traditional seaside charm with a fine-dine experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Menu Development:
o Design and develop seasonal menus that reflect local produce and the culinary
identity of Coffin Bay
o Create daily and weekly specials to enhance customer dining experiences.
o Ensure menu offerings are varied and cater to different dietary requirements.
• Kitchen Management:
o Lead role of the kitchen team, including training, scheduling, and performance
management.
o Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains high standards in food
preparation and presentation.
o Implement effective communication and collaboration within the kitchen and with
front-of-house staff.
• Food Safety & Compliance:
o Maintain compliance with food safety standards, ensuring all food is prepared and
stored according to health regulations.
o Ensure the kitchen operates according to workplace health and safety standards.
o Conduct regular inspections and audits of kitchen cleanliness and food handling.
• Cost Control & Inventory:
o Inventory and staffing, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.
o Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure fresh, high quality
ingredients.
o Minimize waste by implementing efficient processes
• Customer Focus:
o Ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standards, with consistent quality in
presentation and taste.
o Ensure customer satisfaction, meet specific requirements and address feedback.
o Innovate menu items based on customer preferences and seasonal availability.
Skills & Experience:
• Proven minimum of 1 -3 years of experience in a high-paced restaurant, pub, or hotel
setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and train a kitchen team.
• Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Creative flair for developing menus and delivering innovative dishes.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other
departments.
Qualifications/skills:
• Suitable recognised skills and qualifications (or additional acceptable experience to substitute for
lack of formal qualifications).
Work Environment:
• Fast-paced kitchen environment with the need to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Salary:
$80,000.00 – $85,000.00 plus superannuation per annum
