About you:
As a Researcher specialising in Chemical Engineering, you will play a critical role in helping to build ElectraLith’s core technology. You will support research projects and product development initiatives. Your work will focus on:
·Designing and developing chemical processes for production, ensuring efficiency and sustainability
·Planning and conducing electrodialysis experiments; spanning ceramic, polymer and composite materials
·Developing and implementing suitable process control systems to monitor and optimise chemical processes
·Analysing raw material streams, products and by-products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional chemical engineer that is looking to further develop industry-based experience in a cutting-edge scientific environment.The role is technical, and not suited to recent graduates (BSc, MSc or PhD) without prior industry experience.
This is a full-time job and requires in-person attendance in the laboratory and offices of ElectraLith, currently located at Monash University, Clayton. Some travel to project sites, including international travel may be required.

Qualification and experience:
·Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field. [note this is a technical role for an industry experienced chemical engineer and is not suited to a recent graduate (BSc, MSc or PhD) looking to transition to industry]
·Technical Expertise in electrochemistry/electrodialysis: proficient with electrochemical/electrodialysis methods such as galvanostatic/amperometry, linear voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
·Experience developing process flow diagrams, P&IDs and equipment selection;
·Instrument knowledge: experience with laboratory instrumentation, including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, ion chromatography (IC), automated dilutors and titration equipment.
·Laboratory Experience: Prior experience in hands-on wet lab in industrial R&D laboratory setting
·Membrane knowledge; familiarity with membrane (polymer, ceramic and composite)
·Teamwork and independence: ability to work effectively under direction from team leader and independently in a team setting
·Project management skills: Experience with scheduling experiments, monitoring completion, building stakeholder relationships and reporting to management
·Data Analysis; skilled in data collection and analysis using software tools. Demonstrated experience with data collection, storage, manipulation and analysis.
·Safety and compliance experience: Knowledge of OHS standards and laboratory safety protocols
·Experience in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Desirable
·Advanced proficiency in one or more European languages (e.g. French, German or Spanish) would be advantageous but not required. Candidates without additional language proficiencies are still encouraged to apply, as other qualifications will be considered.
