Civil Engineering Draftperson

Our client is a leading construction company with strong roots within South Australia, dedicated to providing high standard of services through its delivery of commercial and residential projects. The company provides an array of services including estimating, project management, commercial builds, industrial builds and residential building and development and has been involved in the construction of major projects for Government Departments and Private Sector Developers.

Job Summary:

Currently they are looking for a motivated and experienced civil engineer draftsperson to join their team in Adelaide and will be responsible for creating high quality engineering drawings for various civil projects. The position involves using CAD software like Tekla to support project documentation and assist in the preparation of technical drawings for construction and installation purposes. The draftsman will collaborate closely with the project teams to ensure projects meet deadlines and standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Developing and reviewing engineering designs, blueprints, and technical drawings for civil construction projects.
2. Prepare detailed engineering documentation and CAD drawings and review while ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
3. Collaborate with team members to refine and improve drawing processes.
4. Overseeing construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
5. Utilise Tekla and other CAD software for 2D and 3D drafting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
6. Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate efficient project execution.
7. Performing engineering calculations and using drafting software to ensure accuracy and structural feasibility.
8. Assisting in selecting appropriate construction materials and preparing cost estimates.
9. Ensuring all work complies with local building codes, environmental regulations, and WHS requirements.
10. Identifying and resolving technical issues, design discrepancies, and construction-related problems.
11. Preparing progress reports, risk assessments, and documentation for internal and external review.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in civil engineering draftsperson role
3. Proficient in Auto CAD
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
5. Proactive and innovative mindset, committed to continuous learning and professional growth, with a focus on delivering impactful results
6. Strong organisational and project management abilities

You will receive:

1. Competitive annual salary of $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation
