Job Descriptions

  1. Adhere to the food safety standards and occupational health & safety rules and regulations.
  2. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
  3. Prepare, season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
  4. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
  5. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  6. Coordinates, supervises and collaborates with kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking.
  7. Bake, roast, boil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
  8. Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption.
  9. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  10. Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality.
  11. Store food in temperature-controlled facilities.
  12. Portion food, place it on plates, and add gravies, sauces and garnishes.
  13. Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
  14. Assists senior team in development of new recipes and menu items for specials.
  15. Estimate expected food consumption; then requisition or purchase supplies or procure food from storage.

Skill and Qualification

  1. Minimum Completion of Certificate III in Commerical Cookery or Equivalent Experince or Qualification.
  2. Minimum of 1 year of work experince is required.
  3. Ability to work unsupervised and in a team.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Experience in Indian Cuisine is Preferable.
