About the Position:
The Cook plays a critical role in our kitchen team at Pastacup Cockburn Central. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking fresh pasta dishes and sauces to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. As a key member of our small kitchen team, the Cook contributes significantly to the efficient operation of our busy pasta bar and helps maintain our reputation for delivering delicious, high-quality meals to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook fresh handmade pasta, sauces, and accompanying dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Maintain high standards of food presentation, taste, and portion control
- Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and stock management to minimise waste
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures
- Work efficiently during peak service periods while maintaining quality and consistency
- Collaborate closely with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and timely service
- Keep the kitchen and workstations clean and organised at all times
Requirements:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Strong technical skills in pasta preparation, sauce making, and Italian-style cooking
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively during busy periods
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for quality food and delivering great customer experiences
