Lucky Dumpling Kitchen is seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our team. We specialise in authentic Chinese dumplings and traditional dishes, delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan and prepare ingredients, and cook a range of dishes in accordance with established recipes and business standards

· Portion, plate, and present food to ensure consistency in quality, appearance, and taste

· Support menu planning by contributing to the selection and design of dishes, including seasonal and specialty items

· Check the quality of raw and cooked food, ensuring freshness and suitability for service

· Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to reduce waste

· Follow and enforce food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times

· Coordinate food preparation activities with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service

· Assist in training and guiding kitchen assistants and junior staff as required

· Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas, in line with regulatory standards

Qualifications and skills required for the role:

·Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or an equivalent relevant qualification

·At least 1 year of hands-on experience working as a Cook, preferably in a Chinese or Asian-style kitchen

·Practical knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, including dumpling preparation, stir-frying, steaming, and wok cooking

·Proficient knife skills, including ingredient preparation and portioning to a professional standard

·Strong attention to detail with a commitment to food quality, consistency, and presentation

·Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment

·Reliable, punctual, and able to demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude

·Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

·Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required
