Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, breads, and rice dishes as per menu standards
  2. Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control across all meals
  3. Assist in preparation of ingredients including marination, spice blends, sauces, and gravies
  4. Operate and manage tandoor cooking where required
  5. Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
  6. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety at all times
  7. Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food wastage
  8. Contribute to menu planning, specials, and new dish development
  9. Supervise and support junior kitchen staff when required
  10. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and food safety regulations

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
  2. Diploma in Hospitality Management (desirable)
  3. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen
  4. Experience in Indian cuisine, particularly tandoori and curry preparation, is highly preferred
  5. Strong understanding of food safety standards and HACCP practices
  6. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  7. Good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  8. Passion for authentic cooking and attention to detail
  9. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
