The Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our growing consulting team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building modern, scalable, and reliable data platforms that enable analytics, reporting, AI, and operational outcomes.

As a Data Engineer at One51, you will work across a range of client engagements, designing and implementing data pipelines, cloud data solutions, integrations, and platform capabilities. You will collaborate with architects, analysts, consultants, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality data engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions.
  2. Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes across modern cloud data platforms.
  3. Implement data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration solutions.
  4. Support the design and implementation of modern data architectures and data platforms.
  5. Work with structured, semi-structured, and streaming data sources.
  6. Develop and maintain data models, curated datasets, and data products.
  7. Collaborate with analytics and reporting teams to support business intelligence and AI use cases.
  8. Implement data quality, monitoring, and governance controls.
  9. Optimise platform performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  10. Participate in stakeholder workshops, technical discovery sessions, and solution design activities.
  11. Prepare technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational handover materials.
  12. Contribute to reusable frameworks, accelerators, and delivery standards within One51.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  1. 3+ years’ experience in a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or related engineering role.
  2. Strong SQL development and data transformation skills.
  3. Experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines.
  4. Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  5. Experience with orchestration and integration tools.
  6. Understanding of data warehousing and modern lakehouse architectures.
  7. Experience working with APIs, file-based integrations, and multiple data sources.
  8. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  9. Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  10. Experience working in project-based or consulting environments.

Desirable

  1. Experience with Python, Spark, PySpark, or Scala.
  2. Exposure to real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
  3. Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation practices.
  4. Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
  5. Exposure to AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics workloads.
  6. Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
  7. Relevant cloud or analytics certifications.
