About the Role:
You will ensure optimal comfort for our participants by assisting with activities of daily living and personal care as determined by the needs of their Individual Support Plan. These include but are not limited to:
- Supports people with disability with daily activities such as mobility, housekeeping tasks, personal care, medication and meal preparation
- Transport the client to medical, social or community activities of the participants choice such as taking the participant to shopping, appointments and aiding where required.
- Communicate and negotiate with individuals and families regarding the acceptance of care provided
- Engage and treat our participants with genuine dignity and respect
- Provides emotional support, and assists in managing depression, confusion and grief
- Identifies and facilitates community-based social activities for people with disability
- Assists people with disability to access disability support services
- Supports people with disability with training and employment
- Manual Handling (Hoist transfers)
- Provide domestic assistance such as light duties house cleaning.
- Complete all relevant documentation and reporting as required.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year Experience as a support worker in the health/disability sector.
- Relevant qualification
- Covid-19 Vaccinations, (or willing to obtain).
- Current WA driver’s license.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willing to obtain).
- Valid working right in Australia.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain).
- Strong commitment to providing safe, high-quality care.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments and the ability to inclusively communicate with a diverse range of people Proven customer-focused work ethic.
