Main Duties

  1. Design and engineer solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in compliance with Australian standards, including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 5033, and grid connection requirements.
  2. Prepare detailed electrical designs, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable layouts, inverter configurations, and protection systems.
  3. Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies, including load analysis, shading assessment, and system sizing.
  4. Manage grid connection applications and liaise with Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs) for approvals.
  5. Ensure all designs meet Clean Energy Council (CEC) guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements.
  6. Select and specify system components such as inverters, panels, switchgear, and monitoring systems.
  7. Provide technical support to installation teams to ensure systems are installed as per design and standards.
  8. Supervise testing, commissioning, and fault-finding of solar PV systems.
  9. Monitor system performance and carry out troubleshooting and optimisation.
  10. Maintain compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) regulations on-site.
  11. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical reports, compliance certificates, and handover documents.
  12. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
  13. Stay updated with Australian renewable energy policies, rebates, and industry advancements.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor level qualifications or equivalent in engineer or another relevant field

Experience

·Recent minimum of one year of relevant experience working in a Electrical Engineer role
