PS Car Removal is a Northern Territory-based vehicle removal and recycling business providing fast and reliable car removal, vehicle recycling, and scrap metal services. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver to join our team and support our day-to-day yard operations.
Position Overview
The Forklift Driver will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and organize vehicles, automotive parts, scrap metal, and other materials within the yard. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining safe and efficient operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack vehicles, parts, and materials.
- Move scrap vehicles and automotive components within the yard safely and efficiently.
- Assist with receiving and dispatching vehicles and materials.
- Conduct routine pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report any faults or maintenance issues.
- Ensure safe storage and handling of materials in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and deliveries as required.
- Assist with yard organisation, housekeeping, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with management and other staff to ensure smooth business operations.
- Assist with general yard duties as required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Forklift Licence (LF Class).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating forklifts in a commercial or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced yard environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Desirable Requirements
- Local resident
- Experience in the automotive recycling, wrecking, logistics, transport, warehousing, or scrap metal industry.
- Current Driver Licence.
- Experience handling vehicles, automotive parts, or heavy materials.
