About the role

The purpose of this role is to educate visitors to the site by communicating the brand story with confidence through tutored wine tastings, and experiences, to drive wine club acquisitions and retail off premise sales. 
The Front of House Host role is expected to provide food, beverage and wine service within the Brand Homes on a day-to-day basis under limited supervision and in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures. This role will work across our Rowland Flat Precinct of Brand Homes (Jacobs Creek & St Hugo Cellar Door’s) 
This position is a Casual position. 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Ability to perform a range of food and beverage operations according to work instructions in a team environment
•    Responsibility to drive sales and Wine Club sign-ups, to contribute to overall Brand Home KPI’s
•    Responsibility to capture customer data at every opportunity, in-line with data capture strategy and company procedure to ensure legal compliance and to achieve Brand Home KPI’s
•    Provide prompt and courteous service to customers
•    Ability to work effectively in a team environment
•    Demonstrated attention to detail
•    Ability to work autonomously within an environment of accountability and responsibility
•    A commitment to adding value through continuous improvement and quality systems
•    A demonstrated commitment to customer focused services and effective selling techniques
•    Ability to evaluate wine quality and identify wine styles
•    Ability to prioritise allocated work duties and manages time effectively
•    Prepared to undertake training, learning and acquire knowledge through education and training
•    A passion for wine that drives willingness to learn about other aspects of the wine business, and stay informed on emerging trends and the competitor landscape
•    Commitment to the implementation of quality assurance principles in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures
•    Ability to work across and deliver experiences in Jacob’s Creek Café, Welcome Desk and Cellar Door
•    Competent use of Point of Sale terminal and electronic banking facilities
•    Attend and participate in work group meetings as required
•    Actively participate in Company Training Programs and proactively seek learning opportunities

What You’ll Bring:

Essential
•    Flexibility to work across a 7-day week, including evenings and events 
•    Prepared to undertake any additional training to complement the requirements of the position
•    Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
•    Responsible Service of Alcohol & Liquor Licensing Laws Certificate
•    Experience in a fast-paced wine-focused environment, or Café or Restaurant environment
•    Proven track record in a sales environment
•    Ability to work flexibly across all FOH areas, across precinct
•    Demonstrate a passion for wine, and desire to deliver quality wine experiences to customers

Desirable
•    WSET qualification or other wine education programme
•    Current First Aid Certificate 
•    Hospitality certification or equivalent
•    Responsible Person badge
•    Current Fire Warden certificate
•    Barista experience 
•    Knowledge of other Cellar Door/ Hospitality offerings in the local area
