Landscape Gardener

Victoria Outdoors Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Gardener to join our growing team. This role involves a mix of landscape construction, garden maintenance, and horticultural care across residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant, cultivate, maintain, and construct parks, gardens, and landscaped areas
2. Prepare and maintain seedbeds and growing sites
3. Propagate and plant trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and bulbs
4. Prepare lawn areas by spreading topsoil, planting grass, and laying instant turf
5. Maintain lawns and planted areas through weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering, and mowing
6. Prune trees and hedges, and install plant support and protection systems
7. Develop landscape plans and drawings, select materials and plants, and schedule projects
8. Set out and install both hardscape and softscape features
9. Construct outdoor elements such as paving, gravel areas, retaining walls, fences, pergolas, ponds, barbecues, and garden furniture
10. Inspect trees and shrubs to assess health and determine appropriate treatments
11. Perform tree work including lopping, shaping, and branch removal using hand tools and chainsaws
12. Apply treatments such as spraying and dusting to control pests and diseases
13. Safely remove diseased or hazardous trees

Requirements

1. Experience in landscaping, horticulture, or a related field
2. Ability to operate landscaping tools and machinery safely
3. Knowledge of plant care, pest control, and garden maintenance techniques
4. Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
5. Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
6. Relevant qualifications (preferred but not essential)
7. Valid driver’s licence (preferred)
