About the role
GSA Management Consulting is seeking a Management Consultant — Manager to join its Brisbane-based consulting team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will work with clients to identify business issues, analyse operating and organisational challenges, develop practical recommendations, and lead the delivery of consulting projects. This Manager-level role involves direct client engagement, project leadership, stakeholder management, team supervision and contribution to business development activities.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading consulting engagements and managing project workstreams from planning through to delivery.
- Analysing client business problems and developing evidence-based recommendations.
- Designing and implementing target operating models, transformation plans, process improvements, organisational performance solutions and change initiatives.
- Facilitating workshops, interviews and stakeholder engagement sessions with client representatives.
- Preparing client deliverables, including reports, presentations, business cases, implementation plans and decision papers.
- Managing project scope, timelines, risks, issues and deliverables.
- Leading, supervising and coaching consulting team members.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, internal team members and stakeholders.
- Supporting business development, proposal development and internal capability-building activities.
Skills and experience required
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in business management, organisation management or another relevant discipline is preferred. Relevant professional experience may also be considered.
- 5+ years’ experience in professional services, including experience working in a management consulting organisation
- Prior experience working at Manager level or equivalent would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience leading consulting projects or significant project workstreams.
- Strong structured problem-solving, business analysis and analytical skills.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: transformation design, target operating model design, process improvement, digital transformation, organisational performance, program or project management, organisation design or change management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work with senior client representatives and executive decision-makers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing professional consulting deliverables.
- Ability to work independently with clients and collaboratively as part of a consulting team.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, complex and fast-paced environments.
