Seaking Pty Ltd, established in 2019, provides a comprehensive range of maritime services to ships, owners, and managers across Australia.

In addition to ship stores and spares procurement and supply, we also conduct ship inspections, crew transfers, and manufacture pilot and embarkation ladders.

With continued growth in our operations and product range, we are expanding our team to strengthen our supply chain and logistics capabilities.

About the Role

Due to increased procurement activity for ship spares, stores, and materials required for our in-house manufacturing, we are seeking a Marine Supply & Distribution Manager to plan, organize, and coordinate Seaking’s supply chain operations.

The role involves developing and implementing logistics strategies to optimize supply chain performance, improve cost-effectiveness, and support ongoing business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and manage supply chains for crewing and seafarer services to domestic and international ship management companies.
  2. Analyze supply and distribution data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
  3. Coordinate receipt, storage, and dispatch of raw materials and finished products.
  4. Negotiate freight and supplier contracts to ensure cost-effective and reliable delivery schedules.
  5. Implement and maintain accurate inventory tracking systems.
  6. Prepare logistics and supply reports to support management decisions.
  7. Supervise warehouse and logistics staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  8. Liaise with distributors, ship agents, and customers to confirm orders, resolve delays, and manage returns or warranty claims.
  9. Oversee customs, quarantine, and shipping documentation for both domestic and export shipments.
  10. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, transport partners, and distributors to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.

Key Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  1. Post-graduate qualification in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent maritime qualification (e.g. Master Mariner).
  2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a ship management or marine logistics company.
  3. Strong understanding of marine procurement, supply chain operations, and logistics compliance.
  4. Proven ability in manpower and resource management.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
