We have full time roles available for skilled, qualified and motivated individuals to join the Balco hay processing team based at Wannamal (Western Australia).

This is a full-time role involving shift work and day/night shift patterns.

Responsibilities:

As Mechanical Fitter your primary task will be to maintain and repair plant and equipment to ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and safety within the hay processing plant. Responsibilities include:

1. Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed and mobile plant machinery
2. Making, fitting, assembling, installing and repairing mechanical components, machines, tools and equipment
3. Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs to minimise downtime
4. Conducting routine inspections and maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules
5. Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant regulations
6. Assisting with plant upgrades, repairs and improvement projects as required
7. Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports
8. Working collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient plant operation
9. Provide production support to operate machinery as back up if required
10. Assist in loading and unloading raw and finished products, supporting logistics and production flow, as back up if required
11. Report on safety, plant performance, and technical issues, raising concerns promptly with the goal of optimising plant productivity and safety standards.

Skills and experience:

1. Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)
2. A minimum of 2–3 years post‑trade experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
3. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment
4. Experience working with preventative maintenance systems
5. Sound knowledge/experience with automation systems and flow paths advantageous.
6. Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a high performing team.
7. Demonstrated commitment to safety values and behaviours.
8. Forklift license advantageous.
9. Good communication skills combined with being a team player is a must.
10. Applicants must hold valid Australian work rights including citizenship, permanent residency, or appropriate work visa.

Salary offered will be dependent on level of skill, qualification and classification and will be from $76,515 - $95,000 per annum + super (depending on shift arrangements).
