We have full time roles available for skilled, qualified and motivated individuals to join the Balco hay processing team based at Wannamal (Western Australia).
This is a full-time role involving shift work and day/night shift patterns.
Responsibilities:
As Mechanical Fitter your primary task will be to maintain and repair plant and equipment to ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and safety within the hay processing plant. Responsibilities include:
- Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed and mobile plant machinery
- Making, fitting, assembling, installing and repairing mechanical components, machines, tools and equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs to minimise downtime
- Conducting routine inspections and maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules
- Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant regulations
- Assisting with plant upgrades, repairs and improvement projects as required
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports
- Working collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient plant operation
- Provide production support to operate machinery as back up if required
- Assist in loading and unloading raw and finished products, supporting logistics and production flow, as back up if required
- Report on safety, plant performance, and technical issues, raising concerns promptly with the goal of optimising plant productivity and safety standards.
Skills and experience:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 2–3 years post‑trade experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment
- Experience working with preventative maintenance systems
- Sound knowledge/experience with automation systems and flow paths advantageous.
- Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a high performing team.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety values and behaviours.
- Forklift license advantageous.
- Good communication skills combined with being a team player is a must.

Salary offered will be dependent on level of skill, qualification and classification and will be from $76,515 - $95,000 per annum + super (depending on shift arrangements).
