About the role
Browns Plains Mechanical Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician (Motor Mechanic) to join our team in Browns Plains, Queensland. As a full-time Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they are in peak operating condition.
What you'll be doing
- Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle faults and issues, including mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations and brake inspections
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and provide detailed reports to customers
- Use advanced diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve complex vehicle problems
- Liaise with customers to explain repair work and provide recommendations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Ensure the workshop area is clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards
What we're looking for
- Formal AQF qualification in Automotive Mechanics - Certificate III or above
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an Automotive Technician, preferably in a workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on a wide range of vehicle makes and models
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers
- Proficiency in using electronic diagnostic tools and equipment
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
- A valid driver's licence and your own reliable transportation
