Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation.

Our client, Cert Pro Painters and Decorators Pty Ltd is a professional painting and decorating company servicing residential, commercial and industrial clients across Melbourne. The company has established a reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship, reliable service and exceptional finishes across a wide range of interior and exterior painting projects. Their services include residential painting, commercial painting, colour consultation, surface preparation, spray painting and decorative finishes.

To meet its client requirements, the company is seeking a qualified and experienced Painter to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out painting and decorating works to the highest standards while ensuring customer satisfaction, workplace safety and project efficiency.

The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will work across a variety of residential and commercial projects, contributing to the company's commitment to quality workmanship and professional service.

Minimum Requirements:

-A suitable applicant should have formal qualifications (AQF Certificate III in painting and decorating) with at least one year of practical experience as a Painter.

In this role your main responsibilities include:

-Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, wallpaper and loose materials, repairing defects and applying fillers and sealants as required

-Erect and work safely from ladders, scaffolding and elevated work platforms in accordance with WHS requirements

-Measure and calculate surface areas and estimate paint and material requirements

-Select and prepare appropriate paints, coatings, primers and finishing materials for each project

-Mix paints and coatings to achieve the required colour, texture and finish

-Apply paints, varnishes, stains and protective coatings using brushes, rollers and spray-painting equipment

-Examine and prepare interior and exterior surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality

-Carry out maintenance and repainting of existing painted surfaces, trims, fixtures and structures

-Read and interpret plans, specifications and work orders to complete projects accurately

-Ensure all painting work meets company quality standards and client expectations

-Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition

-Comply with workplace health and safety procedures, environmental requirements and industry regulations

-Liaise with supervisors, clients and other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed on schedule

Other key skills and experience will include:

-Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation methods and finishing systems

-Good understanding of colour matching, paint products and decorative finishes

-Ability to interpret plans, drawings and project specifications

-Good mathematical skills for measuring and estimating materials

-Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work, including working at heights

-Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

-Experience across residential and commercial painting projects will be highly regarded

Must hold the following Licences:

·Construction White Card

·Driver Licence
