The Opportunity

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in a part-time capacity (1 to 2 days per week). This role offers flexibility and support that makes it suitable for practitioners returning to work after a career break, transitioning to part-time employment, or anyone seeking meaningful clinical work without compromising their life outside the clinic.

You will work with a varied caseload including a strong paediatric focus alongside other age groups if it is of interest. Your work will include both clinic-based sessions at our Ormeau practice and community/ home visits. You will enjoy a diverse caseload working with varied diagnoses and clinical presentations across different funding streams such as Medicare and NDIS, providing diversity and interest in your day-to-day work. An interest in working with children with Neurodevelopmental conditions is essential.

Key Responsibilities

·Undertaking comprehensive clinical assessments including a range of standardised and non-standardised assessments and clinical observation, depending on individual needs, using a narrative approach wherever possible.

·Collaborative goals setting with clients and families to ensure client-centred and strength-based care.

· Planning and delivering individual intervention sessions utilising a range of evidence-based approaches across domains including self-care skills, cognition, handwriting, fine and motor skills, sensory processing and social-emotional skills.

·Service delivery within the paediatric setting will be entrenched in play-based approaches with a strong focus on parent education and capacity building supports.

·Effective collaboration with parents, educators and other health professionals and support services.

·Comprehensive clinical documentation and report writing

·Completion of Functional Capacity Assessments if clinically indicated

  2. Experienced practitioners preferred. New graduates with demonstrated passion and readiness to learn in a mentored environment may be considered
