About the Role Reporting the Operations Manager you will be a dedicated Project Coordinator, responsible for coordinating and controlling defence manufacturing projects, within our advanced composites and aerospace systems programs. You will integrate activities across production, engineering, and supply chain functions to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and control project activities across defence manufacturing programs
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project
- Ensure project delivery aligns with client requirements, technical specifications, and contractual milestones
- Liaise directly with clients and stakeholders within the defence and aerospace sectors
- Translate engineering and project requirements into actionable production plans
- Coordinate manufacturing activities including composite processes such as resin infusion, hand lay-up, and prepreg
- Oversee progress of production, inspection, rework, and final delivery stages
- Identify material requirements and coordinate procurement with supply chain teams
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation actions
- Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Support cost estimation, quoting, and evaluation of new defence project opportunities
- Facilitate communication across multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient project execution
- Maintain accurate project documentation, tracking, and reporting systems
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- At least three years of relevant experience coordinating projects involving manufacturing, maintenance, and inspection activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and practical experience operating within aerospace and defence industry environments.
- Technical understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes, including resin infusion, hand lay-up (manual lamination), and prepreg processes.
- Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage project activities across multiple operational sites.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of project planning and scheduling, with the ability to manage competing priorities within complex aerospace project environments.
- Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes, including a deep understanding of production, engineering, and quality functions to ensure technical compliance.
- Interpersonal and communication skills required for stakeholder coordination, risk identification, problem-solving, and effective multidisciplinary team leadership.
- Technical proficiency in project management software, specifically Microsoft Project, ERP systems (e.g., Aerotrac), and engineering tools including SolidWorks and CATIA.
- Competency in resource planning and cost awareness, supported by the ability to maintain professional project documentation and reporting using the Microsoft Office Suite.
Annual salary will be between $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience. Working 40 hours per week.
