Salary: $104,000 plus 12% superannuation

The client is looking to fill a full time position for a skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the deployment of quality systems and inspection processes within the business. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure that QA is carried out in a safe and timely manner and your team is achieving exceptional results.

This is an opportunity for a meticulous Quality Assurance Manager to drive continuous improvement of the company’s quality assurance approach, inspecting procedures and outputs and identifying non-conformity issues.

The goal is to ensure the high quality of operations and produce aiming to the long-term success of the business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the produce meet the highest standards of quality and safety throughout the distribution process.

Minimum Requirements:

Relevant qualification at the level of an Australian qualification’s framework equivalent bachelor’s degree or higher, and at least 3 years of relevant work experience in similar role. At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification

In this role your main responsibilities include:

  1. Develop, implement, and manage the company's quality assurance strategies, policies, and processes to ensure top-tier product quality.
  2. Lead the inspection of fruits meet specifications for size, appearance, taste, and shelf life.
  3. Monitor and ensure compliance with national and international food safety regulations, including HACCP, SQF, and other relevant quality standards.
  4. Collaborate with production and packaging teams to identify quality issues and work proactively to resolve them.
  5. Oversee all aspects of quality control, including produce inspection, and documentation.
  6. Conduct regular audits of suppliers and distribution facilities to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  8. Train and mentor staff on quality assurance protocols and best practices.

·Provide an enthusiastic and positive approach to quality and compliance for the business activities

  1. Implement, develop and maintain quality system policies
  2. Develop robust processes to ensure produce is delivered on-time, of the desired quality, and in a safe manner.
  3. Perform Internal Quality Audits and organise external audits for the business
  4. Co-ordinate with other departments regarding non-conformance & corrective action for the same
  5. Checking of produce for compliance with specifications
  6. Minimize the impact to the environment during distribution process
  7. Manage produce recalls and withdrawals and conduct traceability procedures during produce recall
  8. Make recommendations on improving quality best practices within the company

To be considered for this role you must have;

  1. Proven experience in quality assurance, ideally within the fresh produce, agriculture, or food manufacturing industries.
  2. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and other quality management systems
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address quality issues proactively.
  4. Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  5. Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards

You will have demonstrated capability in developing and maintaining successful quality frameworks and proven experience delivering business outcomes through management system processes.
