PIYC provides a range of services that enable our clients to feel more inclusive, self-dependent and participate within society.

About the role:

The main responsibility of the position is to help residents enhance their daily living, social, and emotional abilities. Ensure the well-being of residents during daily programs and within group homes, while promoting their overall welfare and inclusion. The position entails collaborating with pertinent governmental agencies and community organisations to identify problems and launch group efforts to solve them.

Location: Norwest NSW 2153

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum (depending upon the experience)

Role: Full-time

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting residents in a residential care arrangement with their mental health, social and emotional support needs.
  2. Develop a range of support plans for residents in a residential care arrangement i.e., Care Plan, Meal Plan, Activity Plan, Roster of Care etc.
  3. Monitoring daily activities of residents.
  4. Ensuring residents get connected with their family, community, and culture.
  5. Ensuring homelike environment which is therapeutic and safe to improve their independence.
  6. Referring residents to agencies for additional support.
  7. Managing budgets and funding for participants for cost effectiveness.
  8. Assessing resident’s need and providing support for health, welfare, employment, housing, training, and other appropriate services for the wellbeing.
  9. Assuring high levels of support by liaising with welfare agencies.
  10. Keeping written record of all the activities of residents.
  11. Participate in rehabilitation programs or therapies to ensure appropriate care of participants with critical conditions/complete disabilities
  12. Train support workers/carers with basic medical procedures and wound management for critical care participants
  13. Ensure participants adhere to prescribed health routines and treatments.

Relevant Qualifications and skills:

  1. Minimum qualification of Diploma in community services, nursing or equivalent qualification in a related field. In absence, of relevant qualification, three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
  2. Minimum 1-2 years of industry experience preferably in disability/mental health setting/aged care in Australia
  3. Qualification in nursing will be ideal for our participants with critical condition
  4. Ability to form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships with clients
  5. A solid understanding of NDIS and disabilities in Australia
  6. Current First Aid certificate
  7. Manual Handling certificate
  8. Good customer service skills
  9. Exceptional time management skills
  10. Administrative /Case Management skills
  11. Excellent communication and writing skills.
