Retail Manager

Job Type: Full-time (Minimum 38 hours per week)

About The Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Retail Manager to join Hirani and Jesani Trading Pty Ltd t/a Metro Petroleum Condell Park West in Quakers Hill on a full-time basis; you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving the business to achieve its strategic objectives. You will work closely with the owners to maintain high operational standards and contribute to the store's success.

Tasks Include:

1. Directing daily store operations to ensure maximum freshness and visually appealing produce displays.
2. Determining optimal inventory levels for seasonal fruits, vegetables, and specialty fresh foods.
3. Monitoring product shelf-life and implementing stock rotation strategies to minimize shrinkage and waste.
4. Formulating competitive pricing structures based on daily Sydney Markets market fluctuations.
5. Negotiating purchasing agreements with wholesale growers to secure high-quality produce.
6. Budgeting shop expenditures, analyzing revenue targets, and maintaining profit margins.
7. Supervising, rostering, and training retail shop assistants, cashiers, and stock controllers.
8. Recruiting new team members and conducting performance reviews against customer service targets.
9. Enforcing workplace health and safety compliance, managing slip/trip hazards on wet floors.
10. Developing promotional initiatives, package deals, and local marketing strategies to drive foot traffic.
11. Handling complex customer inquiries, managing retail refunds, and maintaining service quality.

Qualifications and other requirements for Retail managers

1. Diploma level qualifications or equivalent in management or other relevant field.
2. Recent minimum of one year of relevant experience working in a retail management role within the retail industry, preferably an independent store.
3. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
4. Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
5. Proficient in inventory management, financial reporting, and data analysis
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
7. Familiarity with relevant retail industry regulations and compliance requirements
8. Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
9. A valid driver license with your own reliable vehicle.
10. Ability to work with flexible hours, including weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,000.00–$81,000.00 plus superannuation per year
