About Us
SRK Petrol Australia Pty Ltd is a trusted local and regional fuel retail enterprise, specializing in premium fuel supply alongside a diverse range of convenience store products, automotive supplies, and daily consumer goods. We are dedicated to delivering efficient, convenient, and high-quality fuel and retail services to Australian customers, prioritizing operational safety, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth. As we continue to expand our retail footprint and optimize store operations, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Retail Manager to oversee the daily performance and long-term success of our flagship retail fuel store.
The Role
This is a hands-on, frontline retail management role focused on the full operational and commercial oversight of our SRK Petrol Australia retail fuel store. The Retail Manager will lead all aspects of store operations, drive fuel and non-fuel product sales, lead the store team, manage inventory and compliance, and execute strategies to elevate store performance and customer experience. This role is integral to our on-the-ground business success, operating independently from head office administrative functions and holding full accountability for the store’s daily operations and financial results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Management & Operational Control
Organise and oversee the end-to-end daily operations of the fuel retail store, including fuel dispensing, convenience store sales, and on-site service management.
Develop and execute local sales and marketing campaigns tailored to fuel and convenience product offerings to boost customer footfall, fuel sales volume, and non-fuel product revenue.
Analyze daily/weekly/monthly sales data for fuel and auxiliary products, forecast sales trends, and provide data-driven insights for operational and business planning.
Ensure seamless daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, shift coordination, and maintenance of smooth service flow.
2. Financial Management & Budgeting
Manage the store’s operational budget, closely monitor and control operational costs (including utilities, inventory, and staffing), and maximize overall store profitability.
Take full ownership of the store’s financial performance, including revenue tracking, cost analysis, and regular financial reporting directly to the General Manager.
Implement and monitor store-level pricing strategies for fuel and non-fuel products in line with company guidelines and market competition.
3. Staff Management & Leadership
Lead, recruit, train, onboard, and supervise the store’s retail and service team, including fuel attendants and convenience store sales staff.
Create and manage staff rosters, allocate daily duties, and ensure adequate staffing coverage for all operational hours.
Conduct regular staff performance appraisals, provide constructive feedback, address performance gaps, and cultivate a collaborative, high-performance, and customer-focused team culture.
4. Product & Inventory Management
Oversee inventory management for all non-fuel products, including convenience goods, automotive supplies, and daily necessities, ensuring stock levels align with customer demand and seasonal trends.
Manage end-to-end inventory processes: product ordering, receiving, regular stocktakes, and implementation of measures to minimize stock loss and shrinkage.
Maintain high standards of visual merchandising for the convenience store, ensuring product displays are attractive, organized, and compliant with company branding guidelines.
Monitor fuel stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply.
5. Customer Service Standards & Compliance
Lead the team to deliver exceptional, efficient customer service for both fuel and retail transactions, setting and upholding strict customer service standards.
Address and resolve escalated complex customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues promptly and effectively.
Ensure full store compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety (OH&S) regulations, fuel industry safety standards, and all local legal and regulatory requirements for fuel retail operations.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven at least one-year working experience in a retail management position, with a track record of successful team supervision and store operational management; experience in fuel station, convenience store, or automotive retail management is highly advantageous.
Strong financial literacy and hands-on experience in store budgeting, cost control, and financial performance reporting.
Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse retail team.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth.
