Based in Croydon, Blackwork Café is a concept restaurant and cafe that endeavours to offer modern Australian and Asian fusion cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. We are currently hiring a Sous Chef with previous experience in Asian fusion cuisine.
About the role
The role is required to work approximately 40 hours a week. Main duties include assisting with daily service, preparation of ingredients, maintaining par levels and assisting Head Chef with managing kitchen staff. Working hours will be 5 days a week on a rotating roster. Weekend availability is a must.

Skills and experience
- Able to work under pressure in a challenging fast paced environment.
- Must have experience in Asian cuisines
- Experience in pastry cooking highly regarded
- A team player that supports other team members.
- A passion and commitment to delivering high quality food.
- Able to work independently without supervision.
- Hands-on management approach.
- Knowledge of HACCP.
- Able to handle a kitchen section without assistance
- Can do attitude
- Able to direct kitchen staff
