Structural Engineer

Pure Style Engineering is a growing engineering consultancy providing commercial and residential engineering and design services throughout Western Australia.

Position requires thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques. Working closely with the Technical Director to evaluate, apply and adapt engineering techniques, procedures and criteria for residential and commercial projects.

Prepare and modify drawings, specifications, calculations and monitor work compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.

Duties of this role after initial training will include:

1. Produce designs that meet client requirements using software.
2. Ensure that all engineering designs adhere to Australian Standards
3. Liaise with clients in-person, via phone and email.
4. Attend meetings on site as required
5. Report to Technical Director.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

·Perform Structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes an standards, engineering formulas, skills and experience under the supervision of the Technical Director.

·Research Design options and document findings for Technical Director.

·Use Computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents.

·Organise, draft and coordinate technical documents.

·Perform tasks within a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience and skills

1. A completed Bachelor or Master of Civil/Structural Engineering from an institution recognised by Engineers Australia.
2. Experience with structural calculations.
3. An understanding of Australian Design Standards.
4. Experience of using engineering and drafting software to carry out designs.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Experience in a similar role.
