Minimum requirement
- Minimum Certificate II/III or Diploma and/or at least 1 year as a Waiter in a similar role.
- Skilled in providing attentive table service and taking accurate food and beverage orders
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with customers
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced dining environment
Roles and Responsibilities
- Greet customers, present menus, explain dishes and make food and beverage recommendations
- Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them into the POS system
- Serve meals and beverages promptly while maintaining high service standards
- Set up, clear and reset tables to ensure a clean and organised dining area
- Handle customer enquiries, special requests and complaints in a professional manner
- Process payments, operate EFTPOS/cash registers and balance bills
- Maintain knowledge of menu items including South Indian dishes and ingredients
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards when handling food and beverages
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure correct and timely order delivery
- Assist in maintaining overall cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas.
